How to add a discount to your proposal

  • Open the proposal you wish to add a discount to, click Edit option

  • Click Add discount

  • Enter a discount name

  • Select percentage or value and enter amount

  • Click Done, then Save

šŸ’” Discounts are applied before tax. Taxes will be calculated based on the discounted subtotal. If a profit minimum is set at the template level, the team cannot apply a discount that goes below this minimum.

Discount FAQ’s:

Where can I add a discount? Discounts can be added to proposals only, not to templates.

Can I add more than one discount? You can add one discount per estimate option. To combine multiple discount types, customize the discount title (e.g., "Military + Promotion Discount - 10% off").

Can applying a discount make my estimate unprofitable? Not if you set up profit guardrails in your templates. These guardrails prevent team members from adding discounts that don't meet your profit requirements.

How do I prevent my team from adding discounts? You can't currently block discount usage, but profit guardrails in templates will prevent discounts that don't meet your minimum profit requirements.

How to add upgrades to your proposal

šŸ’” Upgrades are optional add-ons. If you’re offering an upgraded version of an item in your base proposal, your upgrade should reflect the additional cost of the upgraded item. The price of the line item should be the difference in price between the upgraded option and the base option.

  • Open the proposal you wish to add a discount to, click Edit option

  • Click Add upgrade

    • This will create a new section in your estimate option

  • Name the section

  • Click Add item

    • Add a name and details for the line item upgrade

  • Repeat these steps for each option in your proposal as desired

Review your upgrades on the proposal summary page. Each estimate option displays with its available upgrades, and prices automatically adjust based on selections.

šŸ’”Customers must select an estimate option before choosing any upgrades.

šŸ’” Upgrades can also be added to estimate options in proposal templates.

Upgrade FAQ’s:

What type of upgrades can I add?

Upgrades are flexible and commonly used for:

  • Warranties (1, 3, 5, 10-year options)

  • Premium materials (upgraded underlayment)

  • Additional services (gutters, windows, siding)

Can I add upgrades to my catalog?

Yes. Label upgraded materials clearly as "upgrade" in your catalog to easily add them as proposal line items.

When should I use upgrades vs multi-select options?

Use upgrades when the add-on only applies to a specific estimate option (customers must choose the base option first). Example: Offering gutters as an upgrade to roofing options when gutters aren't sold standalone.

Use multi-select when customers can choose additional options independently of other selections. Example: Offering gutters as a separate option that customers can select with or without roofing work.

Can upgrade line items replace the original estimate items?

No. Upgrades are added alongside the original items, so label them clearly to show the price difference between base and upgraded options.

How to add multiple signatures to your proposal

šŸ’”Every proposal automatically includes an e-signature at the end for customers to sign off on the full proposal. In-line signatures capture additional signatures or initials for specific requirements like payment schedules or terms and conditions.

  • Open the proposal you wish to add a discount to, click the blue + button in the left menu.

  • Name the section and add a title and your desired text (ie: terms and conditions).

  • Click the Format menu button.

  • Select the pen for signatures and choose the type of signature placeholder you wish to include.

  • Customers will be required to sign and date the section on receipt.

How to add a cosigner to your proposal

  • Open the proposal you wish to add a discount to, click the blue + button in the left menu

  • Click the Add cosigner button in the top left corner

  • Add cosigner details

  • Click Save

šŸ’”The proposal will be sent to the primary customer first to gather their e-signature. Once complete, an email with a signature request will be sent to the co-signer to review and e-sign.

How to apply recommended waste factor to your proposal

  • Click Edit Option in your proposal

  • In the Waste (%) column, click the link icon next to the item you want to add recommended waste to

  • Click the link icon again to confirm your selection

šŸ’” The recommended waste from the associated Roofr Report will be added to that line item
