Our DIY Reports tool is fast, easy to use, and allows you to measure roofs on your own time.
How to Create a DIY report from a Blueprint
1) Creating a new Job and DIY
From the Jobs section of your Roofr dashboard, click +New
Select Job and enter the address, click Continue
From the created Job Card, click the + button and select Create DIY Report
Click the Upload button, and select your blueprint file
2) Setting Scale and beginning to Draw
Select a horizontal line on your Blueprint to use for scale
Click Draw a line
š”This line will establish scale for your entire DIY so ensure that it is accurate
Draw the scale line precisely over the drawing in the DIY drawing screen and enter the length in feet and inches, click OK
Review the elevations on your blueprint to draw your layers
š” The lowest letter in the tool bar (A) is the layer closest to the ground
Start by drawing the lines on the layers closest to the ground
Next, draw the perimeter of the structure and all lines of the roof
3) Labelling Edges
Begin at the highest layer by clicking the corresponding letter in the Layers tool bar
Click the Edges tab to view the Edges tool bar
Click the label of the edge type in the tool bar and then click on the corresponding lines to label that line
Move through all layers and ensure that each line is labeled correctly
4) Adding Pitch
Click the Facets tab to view the Facets tool bar
Click the layer you wish to start labelling on, typically the top layer
Click the numbered pitch in the Facets tool bar, and then into the selected facet to label it
Move through each layer to apply pitch
š”Click the bounding box next to the numbered pitch in the Facets tool bar to apply to the entire layer selected
5) Save and download
Your measurement will be listed as āIn progressā until you mark it as done
The drawing will auto-save every few seconds, but you can click the save button to manually save at any time
Click Mark as Done to finalize your report
Download a PDF or CSV of the report by clicking the arrow icon on the top right of the view screen
š Success! You now have a detailed Roofr report including length, area, pitch and summary information.
